While officially the Focus RS has a 0-to-60 time of 4.6 seconds, we know most real-world drivers won't be going about their daily lives with the hatchback configured for maximum drag-strip performance. So what kind of acceleration can the average Focus RS owner expect on a daily basis?

A recent upload by Edmunds attempts to answer this question.

Test 1: Base configuration

If you don't mess with any of the Focus RS's many settings, and drive it in its most tame configuration possible, you can still achieve a 0-to-60 of 5.9 seconds, and finish the quarter mile just grazing 100 mph.

Test 2: Sport mode, with launch control enabled

If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, sport mode tunes performance to be a little sharper, while launch control manages the hatchback's 350 pound-feet of torque for a speedier takeoff. Edmunds recorded a 0-to-60 time of 5.2 seconds, and 99.3 mph at the quarter mile.

Test 3: Track mode

This may not be your driving mode of choice for day-to-day comfort, but track mode is where Ford measured the Focus RS's fastest 0-to-60 time. The test video recorded a slightly slower launch than Ford, at 4.9 seconds.
